Poyan Initiative helps newcomers navigate the journey of settlement through practical information, learning, guidance and community connections.
Starting a new life in a new country can be challenging. Newcomers may need to understand unfamiliar systems, learn a new language, find employment, access healthcare, manage paperwork, continue their education and build new connections—all at the same time.
Poyan Initiative helps make that journey clearer.
We support newly arrived migrants with legal status, asylum seekers, refugees and people facing vulnerable or difficult circumstances as they build their lives in France.
Understanding services, systems, rights, responsibilities and everyday life.
Building practical language and communication skills for everyday life and participation.
Helping newcomers understand healthcare access and identify appropriate services.
Supporting employment preparation, skills development and professional integration.
Connecting people with learning opportunities, educational pathways and useful resources.
Creating opportunities to meet people, participate and build meaningful connections.
Every newcomer has a different story, different strengths and different challenges. We begin by listening and understanding.
Our aim is not to create dependence on support. It is to build capacity. We want people to gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to increasingly navigate systems, make decisions and access opportunities for themselves.
PI is developing practical resources covering areas such as health, employment, education, administrative procedures and community life.
We are rapidly developing our programs and resources around the real needs and experiences of newcomers. We welcome ideas, suggestions and perspectives that can help make our work more useful and accessible.
Successful settlement is about more than finding accommodation or completing paperwork. It is also about learning, participating, forming relationships and feeling that you have a place in your new community.
PI helps newcomers discover local resources, organizations, activities and opportunities where they can meet people, participate and build meaningful connections.
Settlement is a journey. We want to help make that journey clearer, more accessible and more empowering.
We help people find their way.
